The other side of the world...

It's been a while I have not wrote anything since I was busy packing and moving back to Malaysia. For good? I am not sure yet but for the time being, this is where I am going to be for a while. It was hard for me to say goodbye to my other half and his mom at the airport. I still remember that morning. I gave a kiss and hug to my dog, Rocky before we head out from the house like 5 am and reach JFK airport around 6 am. It was cold, drizzling and breezy. Seems like the weather knows that I am sad of leaving all my wonderful moments in the state.

Me and my other half

Long story short, 2 months after I left New York my boyfriend came to Malaysia to meet me and my family. I was so excited and very happy! No words would describe my feelings at the time I saw him at the KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) arrival gate. But couple hours after he landed, we received bad news that our Rocky passed away. He was such a good dog and I love him so much. I know he is in Heaven right now running around with his treats. You will be missed and will always have a place in my heart Rocky.

My Rocky

So, everybody in my family was so pleased to meet my boyfriend. I was a little bit nervous on how my parents going to accept him but I guess I'm very lucky when both my dad and my mom said that they bless our relationship. During the 2 months we were away from each other's faces, skype was our main communication messenger. Beside we could talk to each other for free, we could even see each other face! And one of those days, my boyfriend asked my dad on skype, if he could "pick a flower from the garden". It's a saying in my tradition for someone who wants to propose a girl, usually being asked to the bride's father. I was speechless and of course was so extremely HAPPY! ;)

On Sunday, July 10th 2011 we had our engagement reception in Malaysia in Malay traditional way. I'm officially engaged to my Chris Te Nyenhuis. It was a very wonderful moment for the both of us. I wish my future mother & grandmother in law were here but hopefully they will becoming to our wedding in 2012. I'm glad that everybody came including our NY friends. I love my make up (credit to Abby), love my dress, food was good and every guest was were happy with their door gifts. Below are some of the pictures from our engagement day.

Once again, thanks to my mom and my dad who put a lot of effort, time and money for our engagement reception. Not to forget to my sisters who were there all the time helping everything to run smooth and nice as planned. Oh and yes, my lil brother was not there because he is in a boarding school, but I promise that our wedding will be during school public holiday so everybody will be there! :)
